A theme meeting on SUperConducting Cyclotron: ExperimentS & applicationS (SUCCESS- 2023) is being organized at the Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Kolkata, on the backdrop of the first availability of heavy ion beams from India's first Superconducting cyclotron (SCC) at VECC. The SCC delivering the highest energy beams in the country opens a new arena for cutting-edge research in nuclear physics and multidisciplinary areas. SUCCESS-2023 is being organized to unite the experts and potential users across the country to harness the capabilities of the state-of-the-art experimental infrastructures available at SCC. Join us for this exciting journey of two days, including stimulating talks by experts and intense discussions on future pathways.

The following themes (non-inclusive) will be covered in the meeting:

  • Nuclear reaction dynamics towards Fermi energy
  • Nuclear multi-fragmentation and iso-scaling
  • Fusion fission dynamics at high excitation energies
  • Nuclear structure, decay rates, collective excitations
  • Multidisciplinary research
  • Instrumentation and applications

Special Session: There will be a special session for the PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and young scientists/faculties (below the age of 35 years) offering them the opportunity to present proposals on feasible experiments using SCC beams. The best proposal(s) will be awarded by exciting prize(s).

Students and postdocs are encouraged to submit a brief experimental proposal (max. one page) to success2023@vecc.gov.in on or before 19/12/2023 (2 pm). See the "Guideline for the special session" for further details.

 

The meeting will be held in Hybrid Mode.
